AURA Circle: What does it mean to be Black?

February is Black History Month.

This month we explore what it means to be Black. With questions to guide our discussion, this special 90-minute circle is here to help you unlock what identity means to you and resources to nurture your relationship with self.

This session includes discussion, a mindfulness activity, a guided meditation, and concludes with resources to support you on your journey of self-discovery.

  • This month’s circle is extended to individuals who self-identify as BIack

  • All donations from this session with be donated to: Black Lives Matter - Toronto

Guest Facilitator

Chanelle Lobo

Therapeutic Life Coach and Healer

Joining us for this thought-provoking session is Chanelle Lobo, our special guest facilitator leading the discussion with me in this AURA x Self-Centered collaboration.

As a Therapist, Coach, and Healer, Chanelle is focused on healing and self-empowerment, using a combination of modalities including Reiki, NLP, EFT (tapping), Hypnotherapy, breathwork, and CBT to break through limitations and blocks, heal your past, and step into your life with purpose, passion and power.

What Is An AURA Circle?

Continuing from what was started in the AURA Circle: For the Love of Black Hair workshop, these monthly virtual circles have evolved into a space for education,  discussion, and integration of a select topic. An invitation is open for anyone to join, with the exception of select circles dedicated to racialized individuals or communities.

Inspired by Indigenous sharing circles, each circle gives you the opportunity to feel supported and to participate by sharing your voice or listening to hold space. After discussions, we move into a supportive practice such as a mindfulness activity, journal reflection, or guided meditation to integrate what has come up in the circle in our mind, body, and heart.

Monthly Saturday AURA Circle sessions are donation-based. Additional circles may also be offered on occasion as an event to celebrate natural phenomena (moon, sun, and earth) or a shared affinity at a Pay What You Want rate.
