Top 5: A Few of My Favourite Things

With the holiday season fast approaching and gift-giving becoming top of mind, I wanted to share my top five favourite things in the hopes they might be thoughtful gifts for your loved ones or even yourself. Each of these items supports me in different ways throughout the day from wake to sleep and as I move through the world.

5) Starry Projector Light

Imagine bringing a starry night or waves to your room before bed, while listening to music, during a bath, or for a dance party. This is honestly my favourite light to use before bed or just as it’s dark enough to use. It’s amazing how colour can transform a space of a mood with four colours to use on their own or to mix between red, green, blue, and white. This projector comes with a remote to choose your colours, speed, laser on/off, pair music through Bluetooth and more.

4) Apple AirTag

Of course, Apple would have to make the list as an Apple Girl myself. This tiny device brilliantly helps you locate any item with a secure Bluetooth signal using the Find My app on any iPhone, iPad, or Mac using a map and sound from the tag’s built-in speaker. Imagine having one of these in your wallet, backpack, or luggage. No more relying on the airline to tell you where your luggage is when you can locate it yourself! Activate Lost Mode to be the only one to receive an automatic notification when the device is detected and you can set your contact info to be read electronically. Apple sells AirTag in single-pack and four-pack options.

3) B MAT for Yoga

Out of all the yoga mats across the land that I’ve tried for my sweaty hands, this is the one I trust to help me get a good grip while doing yoga. Here I am recommending the traditional B MAT from B YOGA before their August 2023 union with sister brand Halfmoon into the new lifestyle brand now called b, halfmoon. I have yet to try their newly branded mats, so, for now, I’m recommending what is tried and tested the Everyday 4mm mat I use at home and Traveller 2mm mat (as seen above) I use when travelling because it’s thin, light, and foldable. And lastly, pay close attention to the regular cleaning and deep cleaning instructions provided by the company as these mats made from recycled tires are sensitive to essential oils and light. These mats are an investment for a personal yoga practice and are used at various studios I have practiced in.

2) Ultimate Ear Bluetooth Speakers

When it comes to sound, high quality is a must for me. Since buying Ultimate Ears Boom 2 speaker, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use it to listen to music or stream videos. It has been an essential travel companion on trips, is with me as I prepare meals, facilitate classes, and even in the shower or bath with me because it’s waterproof! You can also download an app to update its software, activate gestures to skip tracks, and I just learned that it can also be used to turn on the device (great if you can’t find it). It has a built-in mic to take calls and its tribal rumbling sounds when pairing make me so happy. I love these speakers so much! Also great as a pretend microphone when lip-singing.

1) Everyday Mindfulness Auracle

Of course, my very own deck would make the list! This deck has a special place in my heart for how it worked through me and uplifted me during a challenging time. The mindful activities featured are designed to rekindle your connection with yourself, your loved ones, and the world around you. Pick a card for the day or create a month-long ritual to make mindfulness practices a part of your everyday.
